If you’re using the online platform WooCommerce to sell your products online, it’s important that you integrate your WooCommerce account with QuickBooks. This will help you gain more insight into the financial details of your business, which makes it easier to make decisions about pricing, shipping, and marketing strategies. The process isn’t hard, but it does involve 3 steps that must be followed in order. Follow this guide to learn how to integrate your WooCommerce account with QuickBooks in 3 steps.
Step 1 – Sync Products
- Go to Products in your WooCommerce account, then select all products you want to sync with Quickbooks.
- Click on Quickbooks in the top menu bar and select Sync Products.
- Select which items you want to be synced (all products or only some) then click Sync Now. The selected product information will be copied into the corresponding columns in Quickbooks.
- Check that all of the product information is present and accurate in Quickbooks before clicking Finish to save changes.
Step 2 – Sync Customers
Head over to the Customers tab in your WooCommerce account. Select the Sync Customers option on the right-hand side of your screen. Then click Update.
You will now be prompted to log into your QuickMBA account, or create one if you don’t have one already! Log in with your credentials and select which customers you want to sync between QuickBooks Online and WooCommerce. A couple things to note here is that a customer can only sync from one location, so make sure that you pick which ever is most appropriate for you. Once this process has finished syncing your customers from QuickBooks Online to WooCommerce, head back to the Customer tab in WooCommerce.
Step 3 – Connect Contacts
After you connect your WooCommerce account, QuickBooks will automatically create a customer in your contact list named Woo Customer. This is the default name, but you can change it by clicking on the Woo Customer link in the contact window. Next, click on the Customer tab of the contact window. On this screen is a drop-down menu for Contact Type. Select Online Store from this menu.
